Team Olimpiadas Especiales Chile logra seis medallas en los primeros 3 días en Asunción 2024

Un gran comienzo ha tenido la delegación chilena en Asunción, Paraguay. En apenas 3 días los y las atletas nacionales han obtenido 6 medallas.
Los Juegos Latinoamericanos de Asunción 2024 están en pleno desarrollo y la delegación nacional ha tenido un rendimiento excepcional en los primeros días. 5 son las medallas logradas, destacando una de oro en bochas, 1 de plata y otra de bronce en tenis, 1 de plata en natación y bronce en la misma disciplina.
Rubén Marengo, atleta de bochas fue quién logró la medalla de oro durante la jornada del día domingo. “Sinceramente, me siento feliz de haber ganado el primer lugar. Estoy sin palabras”, señaló el deportista oriundo de la comuna de Limache.
Natación es otra disciplina que ha obtenido importantes logros. Francis Tapia logró el segundo lugar en los 25 metros espalda. Mientras que Jacqueline Pardo se quedó con el tercer lugar. En tenis Máximo Vergara se llevó la medalla de plata y María Eugenia Pérez alcanzó la presea de bronce.
"Estoy muy contenta de haber ganado el segundo lugar, porque siento que es un gran logro para ser mi primera vez compitiendo en Olimpiadas Especiales Chile. Además, nos llevamos la medalla a casa, que es lo mejor", señaló la atleta de natación, Francis Tapia.
La delegación cuenta con 91 personas, que estará compuesta por 47 atletas con discapacidad intelectual, 18 compañeros unificados y 26 profesionales que han dado lo mejor de sí para dejar en alto el nombre de nuestro país. Los Juegos Latinoamericanos de Asunción comenzaron el viernes 4 y finalizan el sábado 12 de octubre.
