Santiago 2027: Se constituyó el Comité Organizador de Juegos Mundiales de Olimpiadas Especiales

Esta mañana se dio a conocer al grupo de expertos encargado de organizar el torneo más importante del mundo para atletas con discapacidad intelectual que se realizará en Chile.
A falta de casi dos años para el inicio de los Juegos Mundiales de Olimpiadas Especiales Santiago 2027, esta mañana se dio a conocer quiénes integrarán el grupo de expertos que formarán el Comité Organizador Local (COL) para este gran evento deportivo.
Por lo tanto, será el ministro del Deporte, Jaime Pizarro, el extenista chileno Jaime Fillol, la Presidenta Olimpiadas Especiales Chile, Carolina Picasso, Gustavo Arriagada, de Olimpiadas Especiales Chile y Gonzalo Escobar, Presidente del Consejo Regional de Atletas Líderes de América Latina, los que trabajarán en la planificación de la actividad que se realizará por primera vez en el hemisferio sur del planeta.
De esta forma, Carolina Picasso, presidenta de Olimpiadas Especiales Chile destacó la creación del comité, afirmando que lo que se realizará es un gran compromiso de Estado. “Esto no es un legado que catapultó solamente a Chile, sino que catapultó a la región de América Latina completa. Tenemos al Comité Organizador Local, a las familias, a los atletas, a todos en general. Este Rumbo a Santiago 2027 será un camino de solo oportunidades”, afirmó Picasso.
Además, el ministro del Deporte, Jaime Pizarro comentó que “para Chile es un tremendo orgullo y, a la vez, una tremenda responsabilidad, ser anfitriones de un nuevo evento internacional pero que tiene un componente especial: seguir potenciando el deporte como herramienta de cambio social, como un espacio de inclusión y de transformación de vidas”.
Asimismo, Gonzalo Escobar, Presidente del Consejo Regional de Atletas Líderes de América Latina, señaló que “me llena de mucha emoción que, por primera vez, en 56 años de la historia de Olimpiadas Especiales, los próximos Juegos Mundiales de verano 2027 serán en mi país, Chile. Esta será la oportunidad para que todos los países de América Latina y sus atletas puedan brillar”.
La actividad, realizada en el Estadio Atlético Mario Recordón del Parque Estadio Nacional, contó con la presencia de UNESCO y de Juan Pablo Salazar, coordinar de inclusión de CAF, quienes hace unas semanas firmaron un convenio de colaboración con el Ministerio del Deporte para difundir y sensibilizar respecto a los Juegos Mundiales de Olimpiadas Especiales de Santiago 2027.
