Sigue desafiando tu potencial: así concluyeron los Desafíos de deportes inclusivos

Olimpiadas Especiales Chile, gracias al apoyo de diversas organizaciones e instituciones, realizó una serie de eventos virtuales que unieron a más de 200 personas con y sin discapacidad en el deporte.
Cuatro disciplinas fueron parte de los Desafíos virtuales de deportes inclusivos: fútbol, tenis, atletismo y baloncesto. Gracias al apoyo de la Federación Atlética de Chile, Federación de Tenis de Chile, Federación de Baloncesto de Chile, la Ilustre Municipalidad de Melipilla, Corporación Municipal de Educación, Salud e Infancia de Melipilla y Rancagua Rave, 250 personas participaron, mejoraron y aprendieron nuevas habilidades.
Los eventos deportivos se realizaron mediante Zoom durante cuatro fines de semana. Esto permitió llegar a los hogares de personas con y sin discapacidad intelectual de todo el país, que se unieron para potenciar el deporte como herramienta para la inclusión.
Estas actividades se dan en el marco del programa Escuelas Unificadas de Olimpiadas Especiales, que cuenta con el apoyo de Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Además, también participaron jóvenes de Special Olympics México y Olimpiadas Especiales Paraguay.
Entre sus participantes también estuvieron diversas autoridades relacionadas al mundo del deporte y la política como el alcalde de la Ilustre Municipalidad de Melipilla, Iván Campos Aravena;el entrenador de la Selección Nacional Adulta de Básquetbol Masculina, Christian Santander; el presidente de la Federación Atlética de Chile, Juan Luis Carter Beltran o el coordinador Nacional de Baloncesto de Olimpiadas Especiales Chile, José López.
“Me encantaron las clases que se realizaron en el desafío. Todos mis compañeros atletas estuvieron muy bien. Quiero trabajar y ayudar al deporte siempre, ojalá con un desafío de baile en el futuro”, comentó el atleta de Olimpiadas Especiales Chile, Camilo Donoso.
