Gonzalo Escobar es elegido Presidente del Consejo Regional de Atletas Líderes

El atleta líder chileno y competidor de snowboard representará a la región de Latinoamérica en los encuentros internacionales de Olimpiadas Especiales.
Emocionante encuentro de atletas en los Juegos Latinoamericanos Asunción 2024. En esta ocasión, el lunes 7 de octubre, se efectuó el Congreso Regional de Atletas Líderes, cuyo objetivo es empoderar a todos los atletas líderes de la región como agentes de cambio para una sociedad inclusiva.
A través de diferentes talleres, tuvieron la oportunidad de conocerse y hablar de sus esperanzas para el futuro de la organización. De este modo, se realizó la elección para el Consejo Regional de Atletas Líderes de Olimpiadas Especiales (RALC), donde los integrantes eligieron a tres representantes y un presidente que los representará en este Consejo.
De esta manera, el atleta líder chileno, Gonzalo Escobar, fue electo Presidente del Consejo Regional, afirmando que, “me siento muy contento, muy feliz. Tengo muchas emociones. Quiero felicitar a cada uno de los que se postuló. Son amigos y familia de distintas partes de Latinoamérica".
“Mi misión es buscar y recolectar ideas de cada atleta de los 19 países que estamos aquí, para saber qué desean, en qué podemos colaborar y trabajar en conjunto con ellos”, precisó Escobar.
El Consejo Regional de Atletas Líderes tiene como objetivo ser la voz de los atletas con discapacidad intelectual en diferentes espacios, revisando materiales, comunicándose con audiencias externas y hablando con el personal de la organización, no solo a nivel regional, sino también a nivel global y nacional.
